Each option uses the same facts, photographs and new navigation. They differ in how they tell Leanchoil’s story and how strongly they ask for support. Open each one, try it on your phone as well, then tell us which feels most like Leanchoil.
Leanchoil told year by year as you scroll: Strathcona’s gift in 1820, 125 years of care, closure in 2018 and the community buying it back in 2026. Dark, cinematic and moving.
Best for: telling the story, and reaching Canadian readers through Lord Strathcona.
Giving is the spine of the page. A donation panel with Gift Aid sits right under the headline, and the progress below is presented as proof that gifts work.
Best for: raising the most on Giving Tuesday and through the Christmas appeal.
The new navigation: The Project, Heritage, Get Involved, About and News, with Join and Donate always on screen
Donate leads to a page on the Leanchoil site first, not straight to JustGiving
The same sections: progress, the wellbeing village, ways to help, heritage, Canada, news and funders
The Trust's own photographs: aerials, the archive postcard, the ground plan and the August volunteers
How to give feedback
Please send one combined set of comments from the Trust, through Peter, by Friday 16 October. Tell us which option you prefer, and anything you would borrow from the other two. Design sign-off follows on Wednesday 21 October.
